Get off to a strong start by attending Orientation. It’s a critical step in preparing for a successful first semester and year. Orientation is required for all students new to IU South Bend.
New students and transfer students with less than 18 hours:
New Student Orientation is a full-day program and will be available throughout the summer beginning in June. Orientation provides a comprehensive introduction to the university and all the services available to help you succeed, from the moment you step foot on campus until you graduate. In addition, you will have the opportunity to connect with faculty, staff, student leaders, and fellow incoming students as you learn more about your chosen major. Campus tours will be available and you can obtain your Crimson Card, the official Indiana University student ID. Parents are welcome to attend as there will be a separate program designed for them.
Depending on your major, you will make an appointment with an academic advisor and register for classes prior to attending orientation, or will meet with an advisor and register for classes during the orientation.Advising Contact Information Orientation Reservations New Student Orientation Agenda
Transfer students with 18 or more hours:
Transfer Student Orientation is a half-day program that will take place on Wednesday, July 25 and Wednesday, August 8. The program will focus on areas that transfer students need to know about IU South Bend, taking into account that you are not brand new to college, just to our campus.
All transfer students with 18 or more credit hours obtained from attending another university will meet with an academic advisor and register for classes prior to attending transfer student orientation. Please note that the 18 credit hours excludes credit hours taken as a high school student.
We look forward to meeting our future IU South Bend Titans this summer!Advising Contact Information Transfer Orientation Reservations Transfer Orientation Agenda
Orientation will take place in the University Grill, located in the Administration Building.
