Students are highly encouraged to attend the earliest possible orientation to ensure the best course selection as registration for classes takes place on this day.
New Student Orientation is from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. in the University Grill, located in the Administration Building (click here for a campus map and directions).
Please bring an official form of ID, as you will need this to obtain your Crimson Card at the conclusion of orientation.
Check your email for important updates prior to orientation.
Parents and Guests
Our Parent and Guest Orientation runs concurrent with the New Student Orientation program. There is no additional cost for family members to attend, although we ask that you limit the number of guests to 2.
Please note that parents and other guests will be separate from students following the welcome session at 9:00 a.m. The parent and guest program will cover similar material to that of the students, but targeted for the families and guests of our new students. We feel it is critical for our new students to become familiar with the IU South Bend campus and to meet and interact with other students, faculty, and staff, and register for classes independently of their parents or other guests.
